Mercury in Retrograde

mercury_retrograde_c

This happens three to four times per year, when the planet Mercury slows down, and appears to stop (station) and move backward (retrograde). It’s an optical illusion, since there is forward movement, like speeding by a slow-moving train — as it recedes, it appears to go backward.

Since Mercury rules communication, it’s said that everything goes haywire in that area — emails get deleted or bounced back, mail is returned, calls go out into the ethers, etc. Some people find that their computers go on the fritz or phone lines go down. I’ve never seen the hard data on this, so make your own observations. It does seem though that miscommunications abound during the retrograde period.

Mercury has been in retrograde since May 6th, and finally comes out of retrograde on Sunday.

The moral of the story: If your life has been fucked up, blame it on the planets.

Things at work are, well, shaken up.  This week we lost 3 employees, next week, who knows? Rumors are flying.  I’m safe, but I”m left behind to pick up pieces and change procedures.

In some ways the weeks since returning from the cruise have been difficult, and in other ways I feel better than I have in a long time.

Rob’s in Oregon, loving his life. John is working here with me as our warehouse guy and doing a fabulous job, although struggling in his long-distance relationship.  Julia is working hard on a Biology class that is kicking her butt.  Ben and Julia are moving to San Diego at the end of July.  Kjarsti continues to be a free spirit, but seems to be doing well.

As the solstice nears more things will shift.

I’m just holding the intention that they will shift for the better.

After the Storm

Filed under bloggy banter by Celia

Friday was an interesting day at work.  Lots of drama, upheaval, and whatnot.  I was very blessed to feel like the eye of the storm, always knowing that everything, somehow, would workout.

Saturday I toodled up to Jan’s for a weekend of jewelry, friends, and pampering.  Oh, and I couldn’t win a card game to save my life.  But brunch with the girls, pedicures, and a massage made for a perfect Sunday.

Today… well, let’s just say the kukai hit the fan at work, but I do believe it is all good.

Mindless Moment – care of John

Filed under mindless moment by Celia

When John arrived from California 3 weeks ago he brought his cat, Pepper.

She brought with her the stinkiest urine I’ve ever experienced in a cat.  We’re talking “wall of ammonia” kind of stinky.  We’re talking “gas mask might not do the trick” stinky.

Last week I had the “Come to Jesus” talk about the cat: do something about the smell, or the cat is out.

This morning John took Pepper in to be spayed.

At 8:30 as we were sitting around the breakfast table John’s phone rang.

“Hi John, this is the vet.”

“Oh oh, what is wrong?”

“You said your cat was a girl?”

“Yes, and I brought her in to be spayed.”

“Well, we’re going to have to do a neutering operation.  Because your cat is male.”

Pussy balls FAIL.
