Traveling Boy
Rob is home.
Stinky, filthy, and looking great with a bushy red beard. He’s put on weight and looks healthy. We sat up until midnight talking, watching him eat everything in sight.
Today we headed to Walmart to buy socks, undies, and shoes.
Periodically he’ll share part of his adventures. Like in Tuscon where he hooked up with Sean and Caitlyn… Sean played guitar for people to raise a little spare change. When Sean would get tired, Rob would pick up the guitar, strum it, sing, and dance. Of course, Rob doesn’t play the guitar, nor does he sing or dance. They always made more money when Rob would play.
He also shared about the churches in Houston who create a line of food every Sunday after church. The homeless and drifters walk down this particular street in Houston and are given water bottles, hot and cold food, and sacks of food for later. I’m so grateful for those who provided for my son.
So, remember the $300 Rob was given in Houston by “my boyfriend”? He totally paid it all forward; giving the cab driver $100, some friends he hooked up with who were short on rent another $60, and giving some other drifter even more.
He can make me crazy, and then he can turn around and make me proud.
