Gone
Christmas treats? Gone.
Christmas tree? Gone.
Christmas decorations? Gone.
I love when it’s over and I can get back to normal.
Normal?
Who am I kidding?

Yes, I visited an orphanage today at lunch. A purse orphanage.
Well, at least that’s what Painting Chef called it, and she should know. I think she is officially my first fashionista friend. She sends me urls to very expensive fashionista sites. I love that. She buys really expensive designer shoes. I worship her.

So, back to the purse orphanage. It was actually a warehouse with just a small collection of heavily discounted purses. And you want to know the truth?
I didn’t buy adopt one. I know Susannah will be bummed, but they didn’t speak to me. Weird color Dooney and Burke, a few Coach bags that weren’t cute but still expensive. And a new brand Kathy van Zeeland.
So, I passed the test. I just don’t go to any third-world warehouse and randomly adopt underprivileged underpriced purses. I’m not Madonna or Angelina. I’m just a woman with a sense of style.
Nevertheless, I do have my eye on a $500 number on one of the sites Susannah sent me. That evil woman.

I’m not doing resolutions this year. I mean, really, how many times have I said, “lose weight”? I mean, duh.
So, this time I am have decided to do something completely different. I am going to have a “Monthly Theme”. That way I can plan things around the theme that will be of some benefit or fun to me. (Please, do not ask why I am doing this. I’m strange, ok?)
So, here are my (tentative) themes for 2007:
January: Clean and Organize
February: Celebration
March: Spiritual Recommitment
April: Rites of Spring
May: Literacy and Music
June: Deliberate Creation
July: Speak the Truth
August: Life Planning and Focus
September: Family Togetherness
October: Travel
November: Gratitude
December: Holidays
Lest you think I’ve lost my ever-loving mind in April, think for a minute. What are the rits of Spring? Cleaning, planting, Easter celebrations, etc. No, there will be no virgin sacrifices, so get over it.
Let me give you some examples of January and the theme “Clean and Organize”. I am beginning the year with a cleanse.. remember when I did the Master Cleanse? Well, I’m going to do it again for a week. I’m also going to clean out some cupboards and closets. I’m going to make a budget (gasp). I’m going to go to the Temple twice for a little Spirit cleaning. Get it?
I may revamp the themes, I don’t know. This was kind of a spur of the moment thing I did yesterday. Hey, I have to be at work the week between Christmas and New Year’s, what do you think I’m going to spend my time doing?
Besides, we are only on the 1:00 p.m. episode of the first season of 24… my mind is definitely distracted! (Guess what we’re doing all day on New Years! Yeah!)
