Sunday Evening
There were certain papers I absolutely had to find… I had them in various boxes from Synergy (which incidentally I have been gone from for six months). I looked and I looked, but to no avail.
Then, I took a minute, did some breathing, some positive affirmation that I would find them, and of course, prayed.
It took me about 5 more minutes after that… it was as if I was told where to look.
God is so cool.
On another note…
Do you ever have those days when you ask yourself, “And why exactly did I go to church today?” (don’t panic, I really do know that answer) This week’s Sacrament meeting program was THE WORST. (forgive me for what I am about to say) My sweet neighbor who is a 5th grade teacher spoke for 40 minutes… in her 5th grade teacher voice. She read us stories, she told us stories, she had us do a “thumbs up” and “thumbs down” for certain activities. John was jumping out of his skin and kept asking if he could go home. I would have gladly followed him. Brent had the good sense to get a stomach ache on the way to church and stay home.
Then, as punishment for my evil feelings towards the sweet speaker, my Primary kids were HORRIBLE. At one point I found myself saying to eight year old, “Don’t touch anyone else. Sit in your chair with your feet on the ground. STOP TOUCHING THE LIGHT SOCKET!!!!” This was a counterbalance to the fact that they could basically quote every word that I said last week, in spite of their bad behavior then.
I know God has a sense of humor. He must have to put me in Primary.
